so that引导目的状语从句, (目的状语从句用以说明主句动作发生的目的。)

其从句中的谓语动词通常和情态动词can, may, will, might, would, could, should等情态动词连用, 而且主句和从句之间不使用逗号。

so that意为“以便, 为了, 使能够”，可以与in order that相替换。

e.g. 1.They got up early so that they could catch the early bus.  为了能赶上早班车, 他们早早就起床了。

2.Say slowly so that I can understand you.  说慢点, 好让我听明白。

3. We will come at eight so that the meeting can begin early. =

We will come at eight in order that the meeting can begin early.

so…that…引导结果状语从句, 意为“如此 ……以至于……”, so后面加形容词或副词。

1. so…that引导结果状语从句

so …that句型中的so是副词，常用来  

修饰形容词或副词，常用句型为：

主语 + 谓语动词 +so +adv./adj.+that从句

如：The boy ran so fast that I couldn’t  catch him. 那个男孩跑的如此快以至于我追不上他。

2. such …that…作“如此…以致于…”解，连接一个表示结果的状语从句。

与so…that  意思相同，但用法不同。

如：so…that这一结构中，so后边可加形容词或副词，而such后边要用名词（这个名词前面可以带形容词，也可以不带）。 

1) such＋a(an)＋adj.＋单数可数名词＋that…
