1 feed v. 喂;喂养
[观察] I like to feed the animals.我喜欢喂动物。
She feeds the baby on milk.她用奶喂婴儿。
He has a big family to feed.他得养活一大家人。
[探究] feed是动词,意为“喂;喂养”。feed…on sth.意为“用某物喂(养)……”。feed还有“抚养”的意思。

be far from 离……远
eg:My school is very far from here.
我的学校离这儿很远。
far作形容词时,在句中可作表语和定语;
far作副词时,在句中作状语。
eg:He can jump far.他能跳得很远。
Tom comes from a far country.
汤姆来自一个遥远的国家。
考查how far询问距离,问“从A地到B地的距离是多少?”的句型是“How far is it from A to B?”,回答是“It’s+距离.”。
so/ səʊ /作副词,修饰形容词。
eg:I’m so happy.我是如此开心。
so作连词,连接两个句子,表示因果关系。在同一个句子中,so不可与because(因为)同时出现。
eg:I get up early so I can catch the bus.
我起得早,因此我能赶上公共汽车。

【点拨】本题采用词义辨析法。so意为“所以”,表示因果关系,or表示一种否定条件,意为“否则”,but表转折,意为“但是”,for作连词时表因果关系,意为“因为”。本

like to do sth.意为“喜欢做某事”。
一般情况下,它和like doing sth.可互换使用,但两者的侧重点有所不同:like to do sth.强调具体的动作;like doing sth.则强调兴趣,爱好。
eg:I like to go to the zoo.我喜欢去动物园。
I like swimming.我喜欢游泳。
